MOKB Covers Project - God Only Knows

My Old Kentucky Blog has this thing they call the MKOB Cover Project, where they list great songs and the bands that have covered them. Here’s their list for The Beach Boys’ “God Only Knows” (off of Pet Sounds), which is probably one of the most beautiful pop songs ever written. Also one of the more grammatically incorrect. It really should be “Only God Knows”, unless of course the only thing God knows is what I’d be without you…

“God Only Knows” is also the theme song to the excellent HBO series Big Love. The show revolves around a polygamist family in Utah, trying to keep their lifestyle under wraps, which lends the song a slightly different meaning.
