Remaining Questions on 24 - Hour 5

Warning: There are definitely spoilers here. If you’re not caught up, don’t read on.

1. Just what happened to Jack in China? Those are some nasty scars, and he doesn’t seem right in the head. (No new info this week)
2. Is he going to be in the kind of physical shape he needs to be in to run around after bad guys? I don’t know what the workout facilities are like in Chinese prison, but I would imagine there’s not a lot of cardio… (So far, so good)
3. Who in President Palmer’s cabinet is going to betray him? You know it’s coming. Early signs point to Lennox, but that probably means it’s not him. Or it is, but they’ll make us think it’s not him. Could be Karen Hayes, but that could implicate Bill Buchanan too. UPDATE: The “scenes from next week” definitely point to Lennox (saying they need to get rid of Karen Hayes, and apparently signing something without Presidential authorization). My bet is he’s not a traitor, just acting like an ass.
4. If there are 4 other nukes, who’s going to arm them? The one guy that knows how to do it, who they put an awful lot of effort towards getting free, just blew up. UPDATE: They’re working on it…Now who’s the Brit trying to track down someone to do it?
5. When does this guy come back? And for that matter, who is he? And who does he work for? And how does he fit in? UPDATE: HOLY FUCKING SHIT! I did NOT see that coming. Let’s recap what we know about Graham:

• He’s Jack’s brother
• Hasn’t seen Jack since Jack’s wife’s funeral (something like 8 years)
• Works with their dad, who Jack hasn’t been in contact with
• Married to an ex-girlfriend of Jack - Marilyn (incidentally, she’s played by Rena Sofer, who is also in Heroes, on at the same time as 24 on NBC). Why’d you let her get away Jack? She’s a hottie! Speaking of which…
• Has a son that looks eerily like Jack’s daughter Kim. Is it possible that Jack’s actually the kid’s father?
• Last season he relayed instructions to then President Logan from some unknown organization
• Has someone monitoring his dad’s house and butler? I’m assuming Sam was a butler
• Likes Bluetooth
• Seemed oddly unsurprised that Jack’s going to torture him
• He’s the one that set Jack up for the Chinese to capture him. Something tells me that’s not going to play well…

6. What is Sandra hiding? This is just a hunch. I think she may know something she’s not letting on to. (Not really any new info here. Though her boy Walid is getting interesting…)
7. How is Jack going to get over killing Curtis? I mean, that’s some rough shit to deal with there. UPDATE: I think he’s over it. Turns out a mushroom cloud makes you forget a lot of things.
8. Who’s the mole in CTU? I know, they haven’t even alluded to one yet. But there’s got to be one. There always is. (no new info)
9. Is Assad for real? Or is he really the mastermind behind the plot? If he’s the mastermind, does Jack go completely insane for killing Curtis? (still don’t trust him. I see him hijacking the plane back to DC)
10. What exactly is the Bauer family business? Whatever it is, it pays well, affords them the opportunity to travel (story about Venezuela), and meet interesting people (dad’s drinking buddies)
11. Where’s Kim? You know she’s going to turn up at some point. Especially now that this has turned into the Bauer family reunion.
12. And for that matter where’s Audrey?

I was totally blown away by the last 20 minutes of this episode. Best show on TV.
