‹ Say It Isn’t So: They’re Making Old School 2 •
Two more tracks from the oft-delayed, seemingly mythical Guns N Roses album Chinese Democracy have surfaced, and after giving them a listen I can honestly say that they are absolutely, positively…not bad. Really. I wanted to hate them, just to punish Axl for the 10 years of delays and excuses. For the way he treated the rest of the band. And just generally for being Axl. But really, these songs aren’t half bad. Parts of them are actually really good. Good enough to make you remember that back in his prime Axl was capable of putting together asskicking rock tunes. But let’s not get too excited just yet. There’s a lot of fluff in these 11 1/2 minutes. Anyway, give them a listen and make up your own mind.
Earlier this year “Better” was leaked, but in my mind these tracks are much stronger. And by the way, March 6th came and went, and no updated release date has been announced, so your guess is as good as mine when the rest of the album will come out.
