You know how some say that when Johnny Cash did a cover of someone’s song the song now belonged to Cash and not the original artist? I think it’s safe to say that when Celine covers your song, and Hard Rock classic no less, it’s no longer your song either. It’s damaged goods, ruined for eternity to the point that the song is unsalvagable. Why? Because when you DO listen to the originial song (to wash away the badness of the cover) you will still be reminded that a scrawny no-talent french canadien singer ruined it for the rest of the world! It’s like imagine if Madonna covered the seminal rock classic “American Pie” by Don McLean! Oh wait a minute………

Anastacia or Shakira is not the point. IT’s the fact that Celine Dion is murdering a classic. It could be a naked Britney Spears helping her sing the song and it still wouldn’t matter because I’d still blame Celine for it.
