‹ Video for Josh Ritter’s “Real Long Distance” •
British newspaper The Telegraph has a story today about Otto Rahn, the German archaeologist who served as the inspiration for Indiana Jones. He was obsessed with finding the Holy Grail, was at one point a gay Nazi, and may have been Jewish. Yep, the inspiration for Indiana Jones was a gay Jewish Nazi. After his homosexuality was found out by the Nazi party he committed suicide at the young age of 34.
Indiana Jones is great and all, but this seems like a hell of a movie all by itself, without the giant boulders or angry natives. Hey Lucas and Spielberg, can we get this guy’s life story?
