Is Will Smith going to play Captain America?
He’s been Legend. He’s been a man in black. He’s been Ali. But will he be Captain America? MTV Splash Page is reporting that actor Derek Luke said “I heard they offered Will Smith ‘Captain America’”. So who’s Derek Luke? You can check out his IMDB page to see if you recognize him. Why would he know anything about Will Smith or Captain America? No clue. So this is as unsubstantiated as rumors come. Still, it’s intriguing. I think Smith could pull it off.

Apparently Aintitcool went and asked Marvel. They said that Derek Luke was very mistaken. They’ve never even entertained the notion of Will being Captain America. Although it’s possible still. It’s been established in the Marvel Universe that the first successful Captain America was a black man named Isaiah Bradley. This obviously happened before Steve Rogers became Cap. Man. I know waaay too much about comics.
