When the teaser trailer for 500 Days of Summer came out a while ago I though it looked interesting, though I couldn’t put my finger on why. Ok, I can guess why. It looks quirky, and I like quirky. It looks like an interesting twist on a boy-meets-girl-boy-loses-girl story. And, of course, it has the eminently lovable Zooey Deschanel. That doesn’t hurt. The full trailer is out now, and it only makes it look more interesting to me.
The general story is something we’ve seen a thousand times before: unhappy guy meets unusually upbeat girl, they fall in love, something goes wrong, and he tries to get her back. In most cases that would make for something ordinary. What seems to set 500 Days of Summer apart is the way it tells the story. It starts with the breakup, then recaps the 500 days they were together. And that seems interesting to me. Check out the full trailer and let me know what you think.

I can’t wait- they seem to have good chemistry, and think the film looks fantastic.
