‹ Go Buy Bishop Allen’s New Album Grrr… •

I love it when bands take a classic song and completely re-imagine it. In general Old School Freight Train is a band with their roots firmly in the country/bluegrass/folk world. So it’s cool to hear them take on Blondie’s classic disco-ish tune “Heart of Glass” and turn it into a slow lament. Check out the video for the cover below, where the song provides the soundtrack for a reenactment of the Civil War battle of Rio Hill:
“Heart of Glass” is the opening track on Old School Freight Train’s latest album, Six Years. You can learn more about the album and the band on their MySpace page.
