Let me get this out the way before we talk about this commercial: In general I think all things Star Trek are retarded. Just don’t get it. Never have, probably never will. To all you dudes wearing pointy ears getting ready to write comments defending Captain Kirk, just save it. I’ve heard it all before, and I don’t care.
Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, here’s the Super Bowl commercial for J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek movie. And it’s actually kind of interesting. Check it out:
I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but it’s much better than the GI Joe: Rise of Cobra commercial. Despite the fact that I grew up playing with GI Joe toys, reading GI Joe comics, and watching the kick-ass cartoon, I’m more interested in seeing Star Trek right now. Why? Because Abrams seems to remember that it’s characters that make a move interesting. I will now go punch myself in the nuts repeatedly…
