‹ Random Cover of the Week – A Pseudo-Gypsy Band’s Take on NIN’s “Closer” •
This represents a convergence of my interests that borders on dangerous. It’s a tie in with (500) Days of Summer, which I loved. It stars Zooey Deschanel, whom I love. It’s a video for the song “Why Do You Let Me Stay Here?”, which came in at #13 on my Best Songs of 2008. The song is by She & Him, who was featured on a Sunday Music Spotlight early last year. She & Him is comprised of Zooey Deschanel (there she is again) and M. Ward. M. Ward was the very first Sunday Music Spotlight. On top of all that, the video is kind of a Fred & Ginger meets Bonnie & Clyde thing, with Deschanel and (500) Days of Summer co-star Joseph Gordon-Levitt dancing their way through a bank heist, and I’m a sucker for heist movies. What I’m trying to say here is that, for me, resistance is futile.
